If a capture does not produce the expected result, try another archive mode. MHTML, screenshot, and Markdown capture different parts of a page and may fail independently.
Reporting an issue
When reporting a capture problem, please include the following details:
- Error code shown in the extension
- Extension version
- Chrome version
- Which step failed
- Whether MHTML, screenshot, or Markdown succeeded
Do not include private page content, screenshots, form data, cookies, or full URLs unless you intend to share them.

What is an MHTML file?
MHTML (MIME HTML) is a web archive format that bundles an entire webpage — HTML, CSS, images, and other resources — into a single file. Most browsers can open MHTML files natively.
What does a complete archive contain?
A complete archive is a ZIP file containing: page.mhtml (full page with embedded resources), screenshot.png (full-page stitched screenshot), article.md (extracted readable content), metadata.json (source URL, title, timestamp, capture details), checksums.sha256 (integrity verification), and README.txt (archive usage notes).
How are full-page screenshots different from regular screenshots?
Regular screenshots capture only the visible portion of a page. ArchivePack captures the entire scrollable page from top to bottom in one image, including content that requires scrolling to see.
Where are my archives saved?
Archives are saved to your browser's default download location. You can change this in your browser settings.
Does ArchivePack work offline?
Yes. ArchivePack processes everything locally in your browser. It works regardless of your network connection and does not require an account.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no hard limit enforced by ArchivePack, but very large pages with extensive resources may take longer to process. Most webpages archive in seconds.
Why are some pages only partially archived?
Some pages may be partially archived because of browser restrictions, cross-origin frames, lazy-loaded resources, video players, or technical access controls. Dynamic interactions may not work offline. ArchivePack does not bypass logins, paywalls, DRM, passwords, or protected browser pages.
